This is -your- Swedish History Tour. Customize your tour by picking 2-4 of these sights:
Vada burial mounds – Gravefield and settlement from the 6th century. One of the mightiest settlements in Sweden at the time. A place for trading and political power.
Arkils assembly site – A viking “parliament” from the 11th century. This was the place were the Viking aristocracy ruled society.
Orkesta church and Markim church – Two early romanesque churches from the shift between the 12th and 13th century. Orkesta church is potentially the baptistery of the Swedish king Gustav Vasa who reformed the Swedish Church from Catholicism to Protestantism.
Jarlabanki’s bridge – The remnants of Jarlabanki’s bridge, a local Viking lord who raised 7 rune stones during his life time. Most rich vikings got one rune stone, after their death.
Vasa hill – Vasa hill was during th 15th-century the site of a medieval estate. The foundations remain and the estate were probably the birthplace of King Gustav Vasa.
At all these sights you can expect to learn about Swedish History from the perspective of the sight’s epoch. E.g at Arkils assembly site we will tell you about the Viking age and the life of the Viking.
This is a totally on-request based tour. It is regulated towards private and/or small groups and you will travel with us by car or minibus depending on group size. Max 7 persons per group. We take one booking per tour to ensure your private experience.

This is a very good choice if you’re interested in more early Swedish history (500-1100 AD). You will be told about two quite similar epochs. Good if you want a clear focus.
For a more variable tour, choose this:
Vada burial mounds + Orkesta church + Vasa Hill. (approx. 3 hours)
This alternative covers 1,000 years of Swedish History. You will be told about the ancestors of the Vikings, Swedish church history (especially the Reformation) and about the life of King Gustav Vasa.
