Pakerisan watershed was recently announced as one of the World Cultural Heritages Sites in Bali by UNESCO with its old active Subak community’s wonderful rice-fields and many majestic archaeological sites along the river which are testaments of island’s past glories. We take guests on an informative cultural-walk in the Pakerisan watershed. We show and explain the concept of Subak community, Balinese traditional agriculture system that reflects the philosophical concept of Tri Hita Karana, which brings together the realms of the spirit, the human world and nature. The village of Tampaksiring itself, where the Pakerisan watershed is located, has a long historical story both in mythological and archaeological aspects. This walk will enrich your knowledge of Island of God’s history and its people’s traditions and ways of life, while the scenery of hectares of unexploited rice-fields and valley are gorgeous.
