There are five temples to discover along the couple of kilometers walk. See the Temple of Hera, Juno, with a sacrificial altar, at its prime location of southeast of the hill peak. There are still evident traces that covered the plaster originally all stone surfaces and the marks of burns dating back to the largest destruction.
Explore the elegance and simplicity of the Temple of Concord, one of the best preserved temples in the world. It has been used as a Christian Basilica since the late sixth century.
You will also visit the massive Temple of Zeus, Jupiter. It is an area of majestic ruins of the building with original architecture. The highest expression of a powerful city as the divinity that protected it.
Visit the temples Heracles, Hercules and the Dioscuri, Castor and Pollux, whose remains have been returned to the admiration of visitors by the will and generosity of distinguished scholars and patrons of a not too distant past.
As you explore, you will notice the fortifications of the ancient city, which surround the whole path like an embrace. A natural barrier created by humans, it stops the gaze with the sea.
