Trip Info

Mustang was once an important route for crossing the Himalayas between Tibet and Nepal. It is this area, which we will trek to, discovering the wonders of the architecture, language, culture, and traditions, which are almost purely Tibetan in this once-upon-a-time mystical kingdom. This trek takes you to the once hidden kingdom of Lo and offers you a once in a lifetime opportunity to witness the ancient villages, palaces, forts and monasteries.

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be picked up from the airport and transfer to the hotel. Meet with the trekking team and be briefed about the trip. Enjoy a Kathmandu excursion tour and prepare for your trekking journey.

In the morning, we fly to Pokhara on a 25-minute flight. If weather does not permit a flight, we will drive the six to seven-hour drive. The next day, we fly to Jomsom to begin our trek to Kagbeni.

Day five through nine will be filled with trekking from Kagbeni. Chele, Syangmochen, Ghemi, Tsarang and Lo-Manthang. Enjoy a break on the 10th day to explore the region of Lo-Manthang. Explore the walled village and its ancient monasteries hung on the cliffs, the man-made dug-in-tunnel caves on the cliffs where people used to live and colorful villages of Tibetan influence.

In the morning, our trek continues to Dhakmar, Gheling, Samar, Kagbeni and Jomson over the next five-day period. The day after we arrive in Jomsom, we will fly to Pokhara to spend overnight there. The next day, we, again, either drive or fly to Kathmandu.
