This bus tour is conceived to reach almost all the UNESCO monuments from Romania. The start point will be Budapest International Airport where the minibus will pick you up. We shall visit the wood monasteries from Maramures, which are UNESCO monuments. See Barsana, Budesti Josani, Desesti, Ieud Deal, Plopis, Poienile Izei, Rogoz, Surdesti and the castle of Dracula at Piatra Fantanele. Enjoy exploring the fortified churches in Transylvania of Biertan, Prejmer, Saschiz, Valea Viilor, Viscri and the fortified medieval town of Sighisoara where Vlad the Impaler was born. See the Dracula Castle from Bran, where the Briam Stoker novel action takes place, the Fortress of Poienari where the former inexpugnable castle of Dracula witnessed a lot of medieval fights and the castle of Hunedoara where Mathia Corvin jailed Vlad the Impaler. We will see a lot of memorable history places in Romania.
You will be picked up from Budapest airport for a visit of Oradea Fortress, built in 1113, and the secession style center of the city. We will then go to Cluj-Napoca where we shall stay overnight. In the morning, we travel to Napoca, Barsana, Budesti Josani, Desesti, Ieud Deal, Plopis, Poienile Izei, Rogoz, Surdesti and Piatra Fantanele. We are visiting the wooden churches from Maramures, all UNESCO monuments. We stay overnight at Dracula’s Castle at Piatra Fantanele.
On the third day, we see Gura Humorului, Arbore, Humor, Moldovita, Patrauti, Probota, Suceava, Voronet and Sucevita. We shall see the painted monasteries at Bukovina, all UNESCO monuments. We see Casa Humor, Bicaz, Gheorghieni, Sighisoara and Saschiz the next day. Today we are visiting Sighisoara, an architectural jewel and the fortified church at Saschiz, a UNESCO monument. In the morning, we travel to Biertan, Prejmer, Valea Viilor, Viscri and Brasov, the fortified churches from Transylvania and UNESCO monuments. We shall visit the Black Church at Brasov and Poiana Brasov, a very well known resort of Romania. On the sixth day, we are visiting Dracula’s Castle at Rucar. We will also see Cimpulung, Curtea de Arges and Horezu, a UNESCO monument and a masterpiece of Brancovenesc style.
The next day will be a tour of Tirgu Jiu, Hunedoara, Sarmizegetuza, Alba Iulia, Turda and Cluj-Napoca. We are visiting the marvellous sculptures of Constantin Brincusi such as The Endless Column, The Gate of Kiss, The Table of Silence and Stool Alley. Then we have a visit to Sarmizegetusa Regia a UNESCO monument and former capital of Dacia. We will also visit the salt mine at Turda.
The eighth day will see us depart Cluj-Napoca for Oradea and then to Budapest for your departure.
