The Mount Everest region is one of the most popular trekking areas in Nepal. The region is tinged with the romance of being so close to the highest mountain in the world. The hiking route also lies in the highest wildlife reserve in the world, the Sagarmatha National Park. The park is labelled as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for it’s unique nature, cultural and landscape characteristics.
During your trek, you’ll follow the course of the Dudh Kosi, gradually climbing through the forests, rivers, Sherpa villages and Buddhist Monasteries. You’ll get the most amazing views of the Himalayas and the world’s greatest mountains of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Tawache and many unnamed mountain peaks.
Throughout the year, the people of this region have seasons of feasts and festivals, marked by dancing and general merry making. Most festivals are of religious nature and centre on the temples and monasteries. You’re sure to run into a festival or ceremony if you embark on your trekking tour during the months of May, June, July, August or November.
Experienced and enthusiastic guides’ll accompany you for your excursion into the Everest region. Your guides have the important task of providing you with excellent services and helping you to maintain the integrity of the environment during your trek.
