Enjoy a holiday filled with spectacular scenery, local culture and challenging climbs on this unique trekking tour. You will be lead by expert guides to the Atlas Mountains to ascend Mount Toubkal, North Africa’s highest mountain. Cross rugged terrain of oak and juniper trees as you venture on the sides of the mountain. You will also have the opportunity to visit traditional Berber villages and sleep under the stars. At the end of the tour, you will explore the city of Marrakech.
Your guide will meet you in Marrakech to begin your drive to Imlil, a village at the foot of Toubkal Mountain. We will meet our mules and muleteers, all the luggage and camping equipment will be loaded and sent on ahead to the first night’s camp. As we trek from Imlil, you will have amazing views of the local landscape. We will travel through the valley of the Assif n’Tafklast River to Marabout Chamharouch as we make our way to Armed. We will stop for lunch to enjoy local delicacies and of course, mint tea. After lunch, we ascend to Toubkal Hut for the night.
Early the next morning, we trek to North Africa’s highest peak of Jebel Toubkal at 4,170 meters. Here, you will be challenged by the steep terrain before being rewarded by magnificent views from the summit of the entire Atlas range. After a short rest, we head to Neltner for a night’s rest.
After breakfast, we trek back to Imlil to meet our vehicle to drive back to Marrakech. We will have most of the day to explore the city.
