I climbed Mt. Toubkal with Lahcen in August, 2014. We stayed in a mountain hut in the first night. Next day, we left 3am from the hut. We arrived at the summit as the first party on that day and saw the sunrise. It was awesome! We then went back to the Imlil village at 2:30pm. Near the summit it was very cold and windy, while near the village it was deadly hot. The second day is tough, so I strongly recommend staying one night at the Imili village. It’s a traditional Berber village and is worth to stay. Lahcen is a great guide. He is very friendly. Amazingly, he can speak Berber, Arabic, French, English, and Spanish (and tried to remember some Japanese!). I really enjoyed the climbing with him.
