This walking tour will take you to many of Florence’s must see sites! We will start from Piazza della Repubblica, which was once the Roman Forum of ancient Florentia. We will proceed to the religious center, where we will find the newly restored Baptistery, Giotto’s Bell Tower and the Duomo, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. We will visit the Duomo, allowing us to see the famous Brunelleschi’s Dome. Afterwards, we will walk through the medieval area, where Dante Alighieri lived.
At this point, all the walking will have made you hungry! This is your chance to satisfy your appetite by snacking on a typical Florentine panino. Once you’ve enjoyed your snack and rested your legs, we will continue on to the civic center, Piazza della Signoria, dominated by the majestic Palazzo Vecchio and the copy of Michelangelo’s masterpiece, “David.” Our last stop will be Piazza Santa Croce, which contains the tombs of famous Florentines such as Michelangelo and Galileo Galilei, in addition to fascinating works of art by Giotto and Donatello.
