- Great Western Tiers is a spiritual place and a region of rare and diverse beauty. Its spectacular natural wonders, mystical moods and vibrant community makes for a truly unique experience. Your journey throughout the Great Western Tiers will lead you to some very special places that will divert your mind, invigorate your body and replenish your soul. The region also provides fascinating insights into Aboriginal history (Kooparoona Niara is the Aboriginal name for the region) and early European settlement. Everything that you imagined Tasmania to be can be found as you explore the pristine Meander Valley under the backdrop of the magnificent Great Western Tiers.
- Sheffield - 'Town Of Murals'. Delightful murals are painted on the side walls of most of the buildings throughout the town. Experience history told through art as you wander through the outdoor art gallery. The first mural commissioned was of Gustav Weindorfer, a passionate mountaineer, naturalist and conservationist. Since then, many more murals embellish the buildings in the town.
- Deloriane's YARNS Artwork in Silk - Words can't describe this beautiful community art project depicting the Great Western Tiers region. In four soft sculptured panels of hand-dyed silk, one for each season, YARNS was created by more than 300 people using embroidery, appliqué, cross-stitch, weaving and quilting techniques. Non-stitchers are just as impressed as those who understand the efforts that resulted in this amazing work.
