Trip Info

I usually start my Warsaw Walk from Charles de Gaulle Roundabout (Rondo Charles’a de Gaulle’a). Nevertheless we can meet at your centrally located hotel upon request. The schedule below is just an example of what I call – introduction to the city. Please feel free to tell me about your ideas and expectations and then we can arrange a plan just for you! We begin with a walk through Krakowskie Przedmiescie with its old noble palaces that nowadays host top cafés, shops and restaurants. The avenue, which was neatly restored after WW2, leads us to the historical University Campus. Opposite the main buildings of the University of Warsaw we see the Holly Cross Church, where an amazing memorial of the world famous composer – Frederick Chopin’s heart (kept in a special urn) can be found. Just a few steps from there we get to the Old Town area. It was totally destroyed by the Nazis and reconstructed after the last war – nowadays listed among the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Again, within a walking distance, we reach Warsaw Uprising Monument, that occupies the whole square between the modern Supreme Court building and the old Army Cathedral church. Our last stop is at Pilsudski Square – ceremonial area with the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
