Trip Info

Spend half a day hiking up Table Mountain for this once in a life time opportunity, with the option of taking the cable car. This tour makes for an unforgettable sense of achievement!

If you enjoy beautiful scenery, combined with the adventure of a hike, then this Table Mountain trip is the perfect way to spend the day! This trek is for those who have a high level of fitness training. There are 350 trails to choose from, depending on hiking ability and length of time available. You can take a direct path in the center of the mountain that leads straight to the top within one to three hours. Or, perhaps you want to have an adventure and take one of the multi-day paths.

Whichever trail chosen, you will not be disappointed in the path you take. The entire mountain provides spectacular views surrounding it. There are more than 2,200 different types of plants that you will only find on this mountain. As with any place in nature, the mountain has a vast number of animals. You may see lizards, snakes, tortoises and perhaps the Table Mountain Ghost frog, only seen in this area.

Once you have reached the summit, be ready for the most magnificent view of Cape Town! The mountain top is actually flat and measures two miles in distance. East of the mountain top sits Devil’s Peak and to the West is Lion’s Head. These two cliffs divide the mountain into what is known as Flat Stone Gorge. This is the same gorge that provides a direct ascent.

To return to the base of the mountain, you can choose a different hiking trail or descend in luxury in the cable car!
