Trip Info

The challenge is unique, the rewards are unrivaled and the memories are unforgettable. Help construct a comfortable communal snow hole lit by the reflected light of candles! Wake up to the absolute silence of a pristine winter wonderland, bathed in the soft light of a Cairngorm dawn. For some, snow-holing in Scotland is one of the most remarkable experiences.

After a day of essential winter skills training & an ascent of Cairngorm (1245m), we will embark on a 2 day guided hiking expedition, spending the night deep in the snowy mountain wilderness. This all-inclusive trip takes us across the remote Cairngorm plateau to learn the essentials of good snow hole design. Once the hard work is done, it’s time to relax and enjoy the experience, with your guide serving you a delicious 3 course dinner in bed! After breakfast, we will leave our snowy abode & ascend to Britain’s second highest mountain, Ben Macdui. Take in the winter panoramas before hiking back to complete the circuit
