Trip Info

Snorkeling opens your eyes to the beautiful underwater world of Hawaii. Our snorkeling tours are conducted at Hanauma Bay on the East Side or Sharks Cove on the North Shore. Our guides are lifeguard and CPR certified, to provide you with a safe and fun snorkeling experience. This is a great activity for families who would like to enjoy the clear warm waters of Oahu!

HANAUMA BAY
Explore the Hawaii ocean marine life in one of the most famous and family friendly locations in Hawaii! While driving to this marine life conservation, we will teach you about the history and the geology of Oahu and the bay. Once we reach Hanauma Bay, we will help you adjust your snorkel gear then head into the bay. We are required to watch a 9 minute educational video upon entering the bay.

Note: We only allow 5 individuals per instructor. Hanauma Bay snorkeling tours are conducted on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. We do not operate Hanauma Bay tours on weekends, holidays, or Tuesdays.

SHARK’S COVE

Shark’s Cove is named after the white-tipped reef sharks roaming this area. However, no need to fear! White-tipped reef sharks are generally NOT AGGRESSIVE unless provoked and they are smaller in size and therefore less intimidating. This is a marine preserve, which makes it a wonderful place to snorkel as it is home to thousands of fish. The cove is located on the North Shore of Oahu next to the world famous Waimea Bay (location of the Eddie Aikau Big Wave Competition).

Marine life that can be spotted in this location includes Uhu, Ape, Roy Sea Bass, Flounders, Blue Strip Snappers, Toau, Turtles, Octopus, Squid, Aholehole, and others. There is a maze of caves at Sharks Cove. Let’s explore the caves and see what animals are hiding in the shadows!

Note: Large waves make the cove inaccessible during the winter months. The drive to location takes anywhere from 45 minutes to one and a half hours.
