It is regarded as “China’s Yellow Stone Park”. It is located in Qingchuan county, Guangyuan city, about 300km away from Chengdu, covering an area of 40,000 hectares.
It was established in 1978 for protecting wild animals and forests, and it was upgraded as the national class nature reserve in 1986. It is classified by the WWF as a Class A nature reserve. It has the reputation of “Natural Gene Stores“, “Home of Life” and Green Pearl of Minshan Mountain Range.

Day 4 Tangjiahe Nature Reserve
Today we will have a walking tour all day in the reserve to look for our animal neighbors. There are so many types of wildlife, such as: Sichuan Tankin, Tufted Deer, golden pheasant, etc. If we are lucky enough, we will have a chance to get up close and see them.

Day 5 Tangjiahe to Jiuzhai Valley
Nearby Tangjiahe Reserve there are some local villages, which used to be strategic point in the ancient Shu Kingdom. We will spend some time walking around the village.
After that we will drive about six hours to Jiuzhai Valley, en route visiting Baima Tibetan village, used to be the soldiers sent by Tibetan king to conquer the distant trips. They settled down in this valley but still keep its old traditions.

Day 6 Jiuzhai Valley National Park
We will spend whole day in Jiuzhai Valley National Park, which is famous for its multi-level waterfalls, colorful lakes, and snow-capped peaks. It is also known as the habitat of giant pandas, although it is very rare to ever see a panda in the park. Its stunning scenery and simple idyllic beauty became internationally famous and immortalized by director Ang Lee’s movie “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.” The terrain encompasses mountains, deep ravines, forests, grass-covered slopes, lakes and waterfalls. Jiuzhai Valley is also the home to several Tibetan communities who have placed abundant Tibetan prayer wheels and stupas, locally known as chortens, around the area.
As there are three main valleys in the park, today we will first take the shuttle bus up to the virgin forest, and start our walking tour from there.

Day 7 Jiuzhai Valley National Park—Huanglong National Park
