Trip Info

Everybody knows Dracula but do you want to know who was Dracula for real? Discover the life of Vlad the Impaler and how he became the most famous vampire in the world with this Ghost Vampire Tour. It will make the fascinating legend of Dracula come alive for you.

On this one-day tour, you will visit Poienari Fortress, the ruins of the real Vlad the Impaler’s castle. Located in an enchanted landscape, to visit the fortress you must climb 1,480 stairs in the mountains. After the 13th century, the castle was abandoned and left in ruins, however, in the 15th century, Vlad the Impaler realized the potential for a castle perched high on a steep precipice of rock. He had it repaired and consolidated the structure making it one of his main fortresses.

We will also visit the Curtea de Arges Monastery, with a strange history that left a legend of death. It is actually a Romanian Orthodox cathedral dedicated to Saint Nicholas.

Enjoy exploring the Royal Court in Targoviste. The auditorium complex was built between the 15th and 17th centuries and represented the place where the regnant that lived here ruled the Romanian Country.

Our last stop will be in front of a Poienari Fortress replica in Bucharest.
