Trip Info

Auckland has a concentration of fine contemporary dealer galleries, with ever changing exhibitions of emerging, mid-career and established artists.

As the exhibitions are constantly changing, no art walk is the same. Repeat the Walks and you will always have an interesting and informed experience, deepening and extending your knowledge of the art in the exhibitions.

Going  perfectly with this tour is the work of ‘TJ’ McNamara, NZ Herald art writer, one of New Zealand’s most well known and knowledgeable art commentators. Working with ArtExplore, TJ takes us through the galleries, illustrating the artists and their work.

We get all the benefits of being with a person the gallerists know and respect. Returning 5-6 weeks later we find new exhibitions and therefore a new experience. When available, art auction houses and studios accommodate our tours.

Your adventure awaits!

Find and delight in the contemporary art of Auckland, New Zealand. Regular tours. Customised tours and more.

TJ is so experienced and knowledgeable. He brings the art to life. This was the most fascinating Tour. I left with a great understanding of NZ contemporary art.
