Trip Info

The Salkantay Hike with a local mountain guide, Jose, is a 6 day adventure on the Inka Trail. This adventure is for trekkers looking for a challenging hike that takes them up to one of the highest passes called Inca Chiriasca at 5000 m. This trail then follows a remote valley before connecting the Traditional Inca Trail. This hike is for adventurers who have a high level of fitness and are familiar with overnight backpacking. To protect the historic trail, the number of people allowed on the trail each day is limited, therefore this excursion is limited to a small group of hikers. It is also recommended that the hikers spend 2-3 days in Cusco or surrounding area to acclimatize. Explore Peru’s most breathtaking landscapes and enjoy this once in a lifetime experience.
