Trip Info

Colorado is filled with amazing photographic opportunities from the old boom-town days when Gold brought hearty souls West from all over the world. If this sort of thing interests you then you may want to break out your camera and photograph some of the beautiful examples of preserved history which can be reached just outside of Denver.

GEORGETOWN – We will start with a visit to historic Georgetown Colorado. This lovely gold rush town still has many of the old buildings built back in the 1800′s.

ABANDONED MINES AND CABINS – Next stop, we travel up the twisted Virginia Canyon road where we will encounter several abandoned mines and the remains of their trestle structures. Often photos through the windows to the outside landscape can make for amazing photos.

CENTRAL CITY AND BLACKHAWK – After we make it over the pass, we will enter the towns of Central City and Blackhawk Colorado. Old churches, Victorian homes, the opera house and more will keep you clicking photos.

KNIGHTS OF PYTHIAS GRAVEYARD – Outside of Blackhawk we will pay a visit to a pair of very old graveyards. Aspen groves and wild flowers surround the old headstones for beautiful monochrome photos.
