Trip Info

This untouched paradise is a 130 million year-old jungle. It contains timberland, stream systems, a man-made lake with rare sights of sun bear, tapirs, tigers and elephants. The Aborigines still live deep in the jungle with 5,800 Aborigines of the Negrito tribe living scattered throughout the land. It’s also a sanctuary for 10 species of hornbills and some endangered mammals too. You will find three species of the world’s largest flower, the Rafflesia. It’s sighting is subject to bloom.

Early in the morning, you will be driven to the rainforest which has the second largest lake in Malaysia. The rainforest also has salt licks for animals and you may get a chance to see them in their natural habitat. It is also a good bird watching area.

Keep your eye out as your guide will point out some of the 3,000 species of flowering plants, 64 species of ferns, 300 bird species, 10 species of hornbills and 238 species of fresh water fish. You will also see some of the 14 most threatened mammals such as elephants, rhinoceros, white-handed gibbon, sun bear and tapir.

A lunch break will allow you to check into the arranged hotel before an afternoon of exploring! Take a boat ride hopping around little islands. Then it is a jungle trek to catch a glimpse of the Rafflesia, depending on the blooming schedule. We will visit an Aborigine Village for an insight of their lifestyle. A stop at a local waterfall will be great for a cool dip before returning to hotel to relax before dinner.

Check out of the hotel after breakfast will give you a chance to visit the Archaeological Museum at Lenggong. A stop for a snapshot of the beautiful Ubudiah Mosque will also be arranged. After lunch, we will stop at the Batu Caves before returning to Kuala Lumpur. Climb 272 steps into Temple of Hindu Deity Lord Subramaniam. He is honored during the festival of Thaipusam in January or February every year.
