Guide

Trip Info

Located 1 hour from Wanaka is Mt. Aspiring National Park, in which resides the Rob Roy Glacier. Join an experienced outdoor adventure guide, Chris Riley, for a nature walk to discover this massive glacier, clinging to the mountainside as it occasionally drops off chunks to display a fascinating (and noisy) show. You’ll begin your day with a scenic drive around Lake Wanaka and into the valley, stopping for plenty of photos along the way. From here, the walk begins through farmland with sheep and cattle, and then into the alpine rainforest, emerging above the treeline opposite the glacier. ┬áStop here for lunch before exploring more of the magical valley. This tour is a full day experience, with a total walking time of about 4 hours & distance of 10 km.
