Trip Info

Leave the city noise and traffic behind and take a private wine tour through Chianti. Visit a family owned estate and top ranking winery, take in endless acres of olive groves and vineyards then top it off with a generous tasting.

First stop: Greve in Chianti – the Florentine “capital” of Chianti. With its splendid square surrounded on three sides by a loggia, it has been the principal market square Falorni Shop of the area since the Middle Ages. The shops sell antique furniture, copper pots and pans, food and local wine. Visit the ancient wine cellars dug directly into the rock in the basements where oil, cheese and salami are kept at a perfect temperature. In the middle of the square find the statue of the famous explorer Giovanni da Verrazzano, who under the service of Francis I of France explored most of the Eastern coast of the United States.

We’ll head to Panzano- Radda in Chianti-Gaiole and visit the wonderful church of San Leolino. Travelling via scenic routes, we’ll stop at a restaurant near an ancient Abbey, where you will enjoy authentic Tuscan cuisine while admiring the beautiful landscape.

After our lunch we’ll head to a Castle richly decorated with frescoes and surrounded by a beautiful garden. With more than 400 years of history this castle has hosted, amongst others, Leonardo da Vinci. The cellar is a fascinating maze of barrels and casks containing wines, vin santo and olive oil. The tasting of these products will be an unforgettable experience!
