Trip Info

This tour is a mixture of legends and historical facts, taking you to one of Prague’s most enchanting areas.

Once the crowds are gone and the daylight fades, our guides will lead you from the historic Old Town of Prague across the River Vltava and into the world’s largest castle complex. You’ll explore the monasteries, churches, palaces and monuments of Prague Castle, walking in the footsteps of kings, emperors, invaders and alchemists. You’ll visit the monastery where “Holy Beer” is brewed, see the palace whose grounds are home to the “Hole to Hell”, learn about Prague’s Alchemist Emperor and the scientists and magicians he brought to the city, and pass by the eerie gates of a former Communist prison.

You’ll have the chance to see the castle and its surroundings in a quiet, magical atmosphere, without the crowds, and you’ll visit the Golden Lane, once home to the famous author Franz Kafka. Your tour ticket includes admittance to the Golden Lane and your tram ride from the Mala Strana to the Castle area.

We were really excited when we saw the chance to see the castle at night (less crowds) and learn about some of the legends of the city. We were not disappointed. Our guide, Veronika, was fantastic: really friendly and definitely knew her stuff! It was just myself and my other half on the tour, so it was a really private, romantic trip around Prague. Veronika was even kind enough to give us tips on local restaurants, which was fantastic. We even had our first tram ride! One word of warning, if you aren’t prepared for lots of walking, think twice. It is a 3 hour walking tour, after all! Also limited bathroom stops. Definitely worth it though, and it didn’t feel like we had walked far at all in the end (just be sure to wear comfy shoes!) Very interesting and original tour of Prague by night. We wanted something unconventional and we found it. It’s not a classical historical lesson, but more about legends and not so well known facts combined with history. Our guide Tomas was also very funny. Radu B, Bucharest, via Tripadvisor

We spent three hours one evening (7-10) walking our socks off with the highly entertaining guide Veronika who brought local history to life with lots of laughs. Good fun. Barbadoskay, London, via Tripadvisor
