Trip Info

Enjoy exploring the beauty and magic of the country on this adventure tour. You will visit an active volcano and see spectacular waterfalls and gardens as you tour one of the most popular tourist destinations.

After your guide picks you up at a prearranged location, you will be driven to Poas volcano. We will visit a coffee farm along the way for pictures and to sample a cup of the fresh brewed beans. As we approach the volcano location, we will stop at local stands to sample and purchase locally grown strawberries and homemade cheese.

Known as one of the world’s largest geysers and craters, the volcano top is a short 15-minute walk. The panoramic view of 14,000 acres of forest and habitats will leave you speechless. It is one of the country’s most active volcano and located in the Poas National Park. A hike through the surrounding forest will give you an opportunity to see tropical plant life and exotic birds.

Many people visualize lush tropical rainforest, spectacular waterfalls, monkeys, sloths and jaguars when thinking about Costa Rica. And they are right! We will see all of these and much more as we visit La Paz Waterfall Gardens. A short drive from the volcano, this amazing attraction will be a lifetime memory for you. We will walk along handmade trails to explore the gardens, animals and birds.

At Aviary, there are more than 40 birds species, an insect exhibit, a butterfly observatory, a hummingbird garden and a toucan feeding deck. You will be sure to see monkeys, pumas, snakes, frogs, ocelots and a jaguar. There is also a petting zoo for your enjoyment.

After a local cuisine at the Garden Buffet Restaurant, we will tour the waterfalls. As we walk along the trail, you will see several waterfalls hidden amongst the rainforest. Enjoy the water and the scenery. We will take a shuttle back to the main reception.

On our return to the city, you may have a chance to see the glorious sunset.
