Upon your arrival to Lima, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel in Miraflores. You will have a welcome briefing and enjoy the first Pisco Sour, Peru’s national cocktail. In the morning, take a guided private city tour of Lima, also known as the City of the Kings. It is one of the few South American capitals that preserve its colonial past. Visit the San Martín Square, the Main Square, the Cathedral, the Government Palace and the San Francisco Convent and its catacombs. If you take the tour in the afternoon, you could visit The Magic Circuit of Water.
A morning flight will take you to Cusco, the ancient capital of the Inca’s Empire, located in the Andes. We’ll have a guided city tour, tour the Inca ruins and visit The Sacsayhuaman Fortress. On day four, enjoy an excursion with your local guide along the Sacred Valley of the Incas and we’ll visit the impressive ruins of Pisac and its famous Indian market. After lunch, we’ll go to the town of Urubamba, and visit a small llama farm and have a drink in a local chicha bar. We’ll take a train toward Aguas Calientes, where we’ll spend the night.
We get up early to walk to a panoramic and unique view of Machu Picchu. We’ll have a guided tour of the site and then wander around this amazing Inca Ruin. If you are feeling energetic, there will be time for going up the Huayna Picchu, known as the young mountain, which rises behind the sanctuary of Machu Picchu. From the Huayna Picchu Mountain, you’ll have a great view of Machu Picchu from a totally different angle. After the visit, we’ll take a train back to Cusco to celebrate the New Year!
After a good celebration, you’ll have a free day in this amazing city to relax, to walk around or to do some shopping before continuing our trip to the south. On day seven, we’ll take a bus toward Puno and will enjoy beautiful landscapes, Andean mountains and some vicunas. In the morning, we cruise on the highest navigable lake in the world and take a tour to some islands of the Titicaca Lake. We will explore the fascinating floating reed islands of the indigenous Uros population while our local guide explain us about the local traditions of these islands. Your trip continues to the island of Taquile, habited by a self-supporting Aymara community. After the visit, we’ll be taken to the airport from where we’ll fly back to Lima, taking with us memories of an amazing experience. Once in Lima, we’ll take you to your hotel to spend the night.
