Trip Info

Pamukkale, cotton castle in English, is very unique in the world. The calcite-laden waters have created an unreal landscape, made up of mineral forests, petrified waterfalls and a series of terraced basins. The terraces were formed by running warm spring water containing calcium bicarbonate, at a temperature of 35C.

When the water loses its carbon dioxide it leaves limestone deposits. During your visit to Hierapolis, an open air museum, you will also see one of the largest ancient graveyards containing over 1200 sarcophagi, many of which are as big as a small house.
