Lepakshi is a treasure trove of temples, sculptures, paintings and other works of art. This architectural tour is offered as a day trip from Bangalore on classic motorcycles or private cars.

India’s largest Nandi Bull statue beckons guests at Lepakshi. Made from a single granite block this statue stands 15 feet tall and 27 feet long and wears jewelry!

Veerabhadra Temple is a 16th century masterpiece of Vijaynagara style of architecture. The interesting rooms here are Mukha Mandapa which served as the venue for dance and other cultural activities, the Artha Mandapa where the King did his worship and where the Garbha Griha houses the deity. There is also a unique wedding hall made from grey sandstone with 38 carved monolithic pillars.

One of the highlights of Lepakshi is the exquisite collection of paintings on the walls of the temple. The paintings of Lepakshi follow a unique style with elegant line-work set against an orange-red background.
