Trip Info

Learn of the rich culture and ancient traditions on this history tour of the region. This long one-day tour will give you spectacular views as we travel through the High Atlas Mountains.

You will meet your guide at a prearranged location in Merzouga. Along the route, we will be passing through the distinctive range by an impressive mountain road. You will have the opportunity to see the picturesque valleys as the roads winds through Berber villages. We will also pass through the highest point on the road at 2,260 metres at Tizi N’Tichka.

As we head towards Ouarzazate, you will love the contrasting views of snow-capped mountains (during November to April) to the north with a semi-desert landscape to the south. We will enter a landscape of a river lined with Kasbahs and mud houses surrounded by green fields.

Explore the modern military town upon arriving at our destination. It was built by the French military just on the edge of the Sahara. A popular tourist spot, this city has much to offer. Nearby, you will see the kasbah of Ait Benhadu Taourirt, a picturesque old mountain town declared a World Heritage Site. It is also popular among film production studios for its landscape beauty.

We will begin our journey back to Merzouga in the late afternoon.
