Trip Info

We spend the latter part of June and the first half of July on the New Fork and Upper Green Rivers near Pinedale, WY, just after the rivers clear from runoff hatches of grey drakes (giant mayflies), and golden stones get these big browns to look up.

When the dry fly fishing turns off, about mid-day, we turn to a dry-dropper rig or huck streamers. The intimacy of these rivers make streamer fishing very productive as you are able to cover the entire river with one cast. Expect to catch many brown trout, some even very large. There always chances of catching scrappy rainbows and cutthroat trout.

We offer this to our many returning clients with whom we have built a relationship of trust, so dates are limited. We require a minimum booking of two fishing days. Ideally, we would float the New Fork one day and the Upper Green the next, so you can get a feel for each river and minimize pressure. Wildlife is spotted everyday, usually in the form of a moose, and views of the dramatic Wind River Range are around every bend.
