Trip Info

Enjoy an exploration of this magnificent city on this private tour. We will meet and begin our journey at Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, a magnificent architectural complex. For the Grand Mosque visit, there is a dress code in respect for the culture. Women are to wear long pants or skirt and a long-sleeve top. A head scarf is compulsory. We ask the men to dress casual but no shorts are allowed. The mosque and its furnishings are the grandest you will find anywhere in the region. The construction is outstanding and is a must see on anyone’s agenda.

We will then drive along Al Bustan Street with it’s gorgeous trees and continue to Muttrah, the unique part of old Muscat. From here, we walk around the Al Alam Palace. Admire its fairytale towers in gold and blue. We will also see the ancient Mirani and Jalali forts.

Our next stop is Bait Al Zubair, House of the Zubair Family. It showcases a collection of the finest artefacts from all over Oman including weapons, Omani fashion, jewellery and household items mixed with modern and traditional art.

Stroll along the local fish market and stop at Muttrah Souk. Enjoy seeing a wide selection of gold, silver, spices, pashminas, hubbly-bubbly pipes, old guns and fabrics.

The labyrinth of alleyways are many and most of the souk would remain undiscovered after hours of walking.
