This eight day tour isn’t for the faint hearted. For those who are up to the challenge, your efforts will be rewarded!
Upon arrival, your guide will take you to the Tembo Tamu Bed & Breakfast for the night. The first day of the tour will prepare you for the trip as we cycle to Lake Chala. With the mountain peaks in the background, you will be amazed at this crater lake. There will be time for a hike through the forest trails before settling in at the local campsite for the night.
The next leg of the tour will take you near the Kenya border on the way to Kamwanga Maasai Village. On tarmac roads and dirt trails, you will pass through grazing cattle and sheep fields and through the Rongai Forest, home of agile monkeys. A scenic landscape surrounds the bush camp you will call home for the night.
A tour through Maasai farms will give you a perspective on the tribe’s daily lives as we complete the circle around Kilimanjaro. This 89 mile route brings us to Boma Ng’Ombe campsite.
The next morning, a short transfer will bring you to Arusha where we begin the ride to Migunga campsite. The view of the rolling hills as we approach the national park of Lake Manyara is spectacular!
Be ready for a day of challenges as you ride steep hills to the Ngorongoro Park gate. The view of the dense forests and farmland from the peak of the extinct volcano is astonishing! There are many wildlife species such as hyenas, zebras and buffalo. From here, you will be transported to the nearby lodge for the night.
Our last day of the tour will be a gentle one as you will be driven to the Ngorongoro crater for a safari and picnic at the crater floor. Keep an eye out for the local wildlife including lions, elephants and possibly a sighting of a black rhino! We will bring the day to an end back at the B&B in Moshi with a celebratory dinner and a well-deserved good night’s sleep.
