    The degree of difficulty for this excursion: low. There are many stairs, but the images we will take are unique. You will need comfortable shoes for uneven terrain, a hat for the summer and appropriate clothing. Women should wear a skirt or dress (not sleeveless) and men should wear long pants. On this tour, you will explore two of the six existing Greek Orthodox monasteries. These magnificent structures are built on natural sandstone rock pillars and the history will fascinate you. You will visit the Church of Virgin Mary, a 7th-century Byzantine cathedral with beautiful frescoes and relics of an old temple dedicated to the God Apollo. The hermitages of Kastraki is always fascinating to guests. These caves were converted to homes by monks in the 9th and 10th centuries and the site is truly memorable.
