Lower Dolpo trekking is a 13-day adventure camping trip that lies in the northwest Himalaya Region of Nepal. Visit the remote and highest village with Tibetan types of Nepalese people in the Mountain Valley. Hiking begins after the Nepalgunj-Juphal flight. The altitude variation is 2300 m to 5200 m high above the sea. The Practice of Tibetan Buddhist culture, polyandry marriage system and caravan trading with yak, horse and sheep are interesting. The Tibetan plateau and this area are similar.
Lower Dolpo trek is a strenuous journey with two high passes including Numa La (5190 m) and Baga La (5070 m). An Oscar awarded film was shooting here and Mr. Thinly was an actor. Camping trek is possible with 5 to 7 hours of walking in a day. The tribe people have their own dialogue, typical dress, food habit and ornaments. On your trek, it is possible to visit even in a monsoon as a rain-shadow area. Bonpo monasteries are in Do Tarap Village. The local people are involved in agriculture, pastoralism and caravan trading to Tibet. Horse use is the local form of transportation here. Monks go to a cave 3 to 25 years to become a Lama. People are under a poverty line, however, culture and tradition is rich. Phoksundo Lake, Suligad Waterfall, numerous medicinal plants and yarsa gumba are available there.
