Trip Info

This two day excursion takes you on a trekking tour where we will visit beautiful rice terraced fields and immerse ourselves in the local culture as we visit ethnic villages and minorities. This tour is ranked as medium difficulty, as we will trek for 2.5 to 5 hours a day. For those travellers looking to experience a photography tour, this is an excellent option for you. You will be busy taking beautiful photos for the entirety of this trip.

This trekking tour will pass along a stone trail, where we will see bamboo forests, crops, mountain views, little wood covered bridges above streams, and connected trails. One of the most picturesque parts of the trek are the Longji Rice Terraced Fields. Longji translates into "Dragon Backed Mountain," and it is given this name due to the particular pattern of the terraced rice fields on the mountain. The sunset from this area is remarkable.

This tour is an excellent opportunity for those who are looking to immerse themselves in the different Chinese cultures. We will go off the beaten path, and visit the Yao and Zhuang minorities. We will learn about the heritage and histories of both these minorities, and immerse ourselves in their cultures. We will experience the local life by eating the local food and sleeping in Ping’an, a Zhuang ethnic village. The next day, we will walk through the village, exploring the village and its¬†traditional wooden houses. We will learn of the Zhuang people’s old way of life as we visit the Zhuang Ethnic Museum, which has utensils and farming tools on display.
