Trip Info
Lesotho is the highest country in the world and home to the Basutho people that mainly live a peaceful, subsistence lifestyle. The country is landlocked by the borders of South Africa and has long been famous for its pristine streams and wild trout and yellowfish fishery. The rivers are often clear enough to sight fish to with both dry fly and nymph. We stay in clean Basotho style huts for our accommodation and the guides prepare fresh and tasty meals every day. These are adventure trips and anglers need to be fairly fit to enjoy hiking or pony trekking into the mountains after these fish. These trips take anglers to remote destinations in the mountains and the scenery and solitude is breathtaking. To ensure that clients get the most of the experience we take a maximum of 4 people per trip.
Your adventure awaits!
Linecasters is South Africa's Premier Fly Fishing Guide Operation since 1995, specialising in stream fly fishing for trout and indigenous small and largemouth yellowfish, still water fishing, fly fishing for tigerfish and salt water species. Principal guide Fred Steynberg has fished for the South African National Team and is a R.E.F.F.I.S qualified guide. We consider ourselves fly fishing purists within the sport and endeavour while searching for trophy specimens, to teach our clients and to have a blast!

Dr. Alan Carlson – :
This is just a short letter to say what an awesome time I had in Lesotho.
I enjoyed your company immensely and you taught me a lot.
I am really keen to do it again – so please let me know when you need a third or fourth man for a incomplete group. I will certainly endeavour to accommodate you.
Thanks again for a very memorable trip, and the excellent company and catering.
