Trip Info

Lake O’Hara has the reputation of being one of the ‘gems’ of the Canadian Rockies, and for good reason! The alpine lakes, incredible views, historic trails (built by Lawrence Grassi!), golden larches in the fall and the lack of crowds, are just a few of the things that make this place so special.

Join us for a guided day hike. We will meet at 8:00 and take the bus 11km up the road directly to the sub-alpine. From there we will stop in at the Le Relais day shelter, grab a piece of their world famous carrot cake and look at a few maps. From there we will embark on our hike for the day.

The plan for the day will be a hike on one of the many alpine loops in the area. We’ll take a lot of breaks for photographs, snacks and a chance for your guide to tell you about the human and natural history of this area.

This is a high elevation area, so be prepared for any kind of weather, including snow at any month of the year. Good sturdy footwear, rain jacket and warm clothing is a must.
