Trip Info
Kronborg Slot, apart from being ‘Hamlet’s’ Castle, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It has a long history including being the residence for the Kings of Denmark. It was always more a fortification rather than a Royal Palace.
On this heritage tour, you will learn about Kronborg at Helsingor and the Castle Tower over in the Swedish town of Helsingborg. It guarded the entrance to the Oresund, in which every ship passing was liable to pay a toll or be feeling the power of the guns from both these fortifications.
This tour of Kronborg can take about four to five hours. We will divide it into three main sections of the inside of the Castle, inside the Chapel and the dungeons.
We will return to Copenhagen by Strandvejen, which is the famous Danish Riviera road. Several interesting sites and villages are to be found along this road. The world famous Modern Art Museum of Louisiana is found at Humlebak. You will also have some good views of Sweden, the Island of Ven, Landskrona, the Turning Torso and the Oresunds Bridge between Copenhagen and Malmo.
