This Kathmandu-Pokhara-Chitwan-Lumbini tour begins in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, the center of culture and history. The 2000 year old culture is infused with a mixture of Hinduism and Buddhism. People from all over the world visit Kathmandu’s religious sites, such as Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, Boudhnath and Budhanilkantha. The neighborhood of “Thamel,” is the primary “traveler’s ghetto,” packed with guest houses, restaurants & shops catering to tourists. Kathmandu is also described as “an enormous treasure house of art and sculptures,” which is made of metal, terracotta, wood and stone. Kathmandu is also a hub for cinema & theater, music and festivals.
The adventure continues with a short trip to Dhulikhel, a village with a magnificent view of the Himalayas, famous for its views of sunrise and sunset.
Pokhara is a paradise. It is a peaceful city, set against a spectacular background of snow peaks and gorgeous lakes. Pokhara is also a starting point for trekkers, rafters and mountaineers.
Chitwan National Park is located on the southern part of Nepal. The geography reflects the sub-tropical jungle. Though one can visit the neighboring Tharu village in Chitwan, the major interesting focus of Chitwan is Chitwan National Park. It is famous for the one-horned rhino and Bengal tiger. Chitwan National park is popular for its jungle safaris, canoeing and elephant rides.
Lumbini, the birth place of Lord Gautam Buddha, is a lovely Buddhist pilgrimage site. It has a number of temples, including the Mayadevi temple and many other monuments and monasteries, such as Ashoka pillar, Chinese maitreya temple, Burmese lokmani cula pagoda, Marker stone and a museum. There is the Puskarini pond, or Holy pond, where the Buddha’s mother took the ritual bath, as well as the famous Eternal peace flame.
We look forward to guiding you!
