Trip Info

Experience a jungle tour like never before, from the water! You will cruise on Gatun Lake, in search of wildlife in the rainforest surrounding the lake. We will also get a close up look at the Panama Canal expansion. A visit to a low spot by canoe will allow for fun water activities, such as swimming.

Gatun Lake is a reservoir formed as part of the Panama Canal by a dam. Because of the dam, the hilltops of the land became islands, with one being named Monkey Island. This special spot of nature is where you will see various types of monkeys. In the rainforest, alongside the lake, be ready to snap pictures of sloths, toucans, crocodiles and many other species!

You will have the chance to see the development of the Panama Canal Expansion. This project is a huge undertaking, as it increases the size of the Canal to allow another lane of ship traffic. The completed task will double the size of the present canal.

A stop at a waterfall spot will allow you to relax in the beauty of the spring, or take a plunge into the clear waters. The scenery expands, as you opt for a canoe excursion along the lake. Exotic flowers and plants line the shore, as you paddle to a serene pool of crystal water with cascading falls. Here, we will spend the afternoon enjoying activities such as swimming, fishing and kayaking, before heading back to Panama City.
