- Climb the Ancient Walls of the City
- Unique Experience of Seeing the City From Above
- Two Possible Routes - Southern or Northern Route
A little know treasure in Jerusalem is the Ramparts Walk. You can climb the ancient walls of this city and walk the same fortifications that have been in use since the 16th century when these walls were built by the Sultan, Suleiman the Magnificent.
You will enjoy the unique experience of seeing the city from above as you proceed up and down the well worn stairs and paths that circle the city on your walking tour.
There are two possible routes. The southern route starts outside the Jaffa Gate and proceeds around the Armenian Quarter to the Zion Gate, or on to the Dung Gate.
The northern route starts at the Jaffa Gate and proceeds around the Christian Quarter to the New Gate, the Damascus Gate – then past the Moslem Quarter as it continues till you descend at the Lion’s Gate.
