Trip Info

The Island Peak Climbing package is a 17-day excursion to the peak of Mount Imja Tse, 6,160 meters, popularly known as Island Peak. We follow the classic Everest approach through the Solu Khumbu. We will enter the magnificent Gokyo Valley, a land of high altitude lakes and icy glaciers, after crossing Chhukuma La at 6,183 meters.

During the trek you will learn the history of the peak, including the story behind the name Island Peak and when it was first ascended by a British team preparing to climb Everest. Island Peak is part of the South ridge of Mount Lhotse. From the summit we can see magnificent vistas of Khumbu. During the descent to base camp, you can take beautiful pictures of Chhukung Valleys landscape.

The climb to Island Peak is considered an easy climb and is a common trek for visitors from around the world. The package price includes three-night stays in a Kathmandu hotel, the climbing permit fee for Island Peak, porters, the Everest National Park fee, Kathmandu-Lukla-Kathmandu flights, food and all accommodation during the trek, climbing equipment and life and medical insurance for Nepali staff.
