Take in the best of the Himalayan mountains on this awesome trekking tour in Nepal. This 14-day Island Peak trip will bring you to some of the most popular climbing areas in Nepal, where you’ll be able to test your skills and abilities as a climber.

Day one will start with your arrival to Kathmandu followed by a transfer to your hotel. Once you are checked-in, you will be introduced to your guiding team and treated to a traditional Nepalese dinner. Day two will start with a short flight to Lukla. During the flight, you’ll enjoy views of the high mountain peaks and the beautiful hillsides. Once you reach Lukla, you’ll enjoy a short hike to Phakding where you’ll spend the night.

Day three will consist of another awesome hike. You’ll head out from Phakding on a six-hour hike to Namche Bazaar. Along the way, you’ll pass by the Dudh Koshi River, the Benkar village, the Sagarmatha National Park and the Hillary Suspension Bridge to name a few. Some of the amazing sights you’ll see on this day include the Kwangde Peak, the Kusum Kangaru and Mount Everest. The fourth day of this tour will be an acclimatization day. You’ll spend the day taking easy hikes to Thame or Khunde. You’ll have the option to visit many other areas near Namche Bazaar throughout the day.

Day five will be a continuation of the trek. You’ll head out on another six-hour trek to the amazing Tengboche Monastery. This day will consist of wonderful views of the Himalayas including Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse and Thamserku. Along the way, you’ll enjoy views of wildlife such as pheasants, musk deer and Himalayan thar. Some of landmarks you’ll pass by include Sansa, Phunki Thenga and the Dudh Koshi River. Once you reach the Tengboche Monastery, you’ll enjoy exploring one of the biggest Buddhist Monasteries in the Khumbu region. Day six will bring you to the amazing Dingboche camp. You’ll enjoy very beautiful walks through the Pangboche village and the Imja Valley.

The seventh day of this tour will bring you to Chhukung. This day will consist of a hike through beautiful stone walled fields and alpines. You’ll enjoy views of the Himalayas and the landscapes before reaching Bibre where you’ll be able to see Island Peak. The eight day of this tour will take you to the main attraction, the Island Peak. You’ll head out on a fairly steep climb, which takes about 4 hours. You’ll pass by many beautiful areas along the way including the Lhotse Glacier. Once you reach Island Peak, you’ll go over some training for peak climbing techniques for the following day. You’ll learn about ice axes, climbing boots, harness’, ascenders and much more.

The ninth day of this tour will be the climax of your trip. You’ll set out on a 13 hour climbing trip to the summit starting at one or two in the morning. During this day, you will enjoy climbing rock gullies, ridge lines and amazing glaciers. Once you reach the glacier, you’ll have to use a rope to reach the summit. At the summit, you can take pictures or just enjoy the views before heading back to Island peak.

The next four days of this tour will be your decent of the mountains. Along the way, you will have the chance to view many of the same sights that you previously came across. Once you reach Kathmandu, you’ll be transferred to your hotel or the airport for departure.
