Guide

Trip Info

This three-day backcountry skiing tour will take you to some of the classic backcountry places in Hakuba. It includes one buffer day to help avoid bad conditions. It is recommended for people with little or no backcountry travel experience. Or backcountry people who are new to powder and trees and are unsure of their ability to move and ride quickly with a more experienced group. As well as riding some great terrain, we will move at an easy pace whilst teaching skinning technique, the basics of track setting, and other valuable backcountry habits.

Snowboarders are required to use a splitboard for this tour, and skiers should have powder skis with touring bindings.

This tour is not suitable for beginner skiers/boarders. You need to have at least upper intermediate ski/snowboard skills allowing you to confidently control speed and direction in powder with trees. You will also have to be fit enough to take part in 3 days of easy backcountry touring with climbs of between 500-1000m.
