This Amazon Jungle tour is done in 5 days, of which two nights are spent out in the jungle. On this tour it is possible to explore the Amazon forest in a non-conventional way, normally done in small groups. Very important because the less noise the better.
TRIP ITINERARY:
Day one:
The tour starts at 8:00 am when you are taken by car from the hotel to the Ceasa Port on the right bank of the Negro River about 20 kilometers from Manaus. From there a speed-boat takes you to the meeting of the waters (the point where the Negro and the Solimões rivers meet).
On the other side of the river arrive at the village of Careiro. From there, a car or van will take you to the Paraná do Mamori River. Another one hour trip by speed-boat takes you to the lodge. Arrive at around 11:30 am.
Lunch is served at 12:30 pm.
The afternoon an activity starts at 2:30 pm. It is a canoe trip to watch dolphins and birds, do piranha fishing, and finally the watching of the sunset at about 6:30 pm.
Dinner is served at 7:00 pm.
At about 8:30 pm Cayman spotting is done. Everyone leaves in a canoe and your guide literally snatches a Cayman out of the water explaining about the reptile which is then returned to its habitat.
Day two:
At 5:30 am a canoe awaits you to watch the sunrise and to get a close up view of the forest waking up to a new day.
When you return have breakfast and then at 8:00 am a jungle walk starts for the rest of the morning. During the walk, the guide explains valuable information about life in the Rainforest. Much is learned about medicinal plants, spiders, trees, and there is even a chance of seeing monkeys.
The afternoon activity starts at 3:00 pm. It is canoeing in the flooded forest and small channels. It is a great opportunity to see and learn more about the flora and fauna of this fantastic Amazon jungle.
Day three:
From 8:00 am to 11:00 am a visit is made to a local family house. Participate in a typical day in the life of the local people.
At around 3:00 pm guests leave the lodge to overnight in the forest. It is chance to learn about the nocturnal life. There is also a chance of doing spearfishing.
Day four:
While in the forest the guide teaches survival techniques and shares information related to the forest. There is also a chance to do spearfishing, more trekking and canoeing. and overnight in the forest.
Day five:
Return to the lodge at around 11:00 am.
After lunch at 1:30 pm leave the lodge back to Manaus arriving there at about 4:30 pm.
