Hoi An is a small city in Central Vietnam famous for its wooden houses, family chapels, assembly Halls and for its silk shops. It is an exceptionally well-preserved example of a southeast Asian trading port dating from the 15th to the 19th century for Chinese, Dutch, French, Japanese, Portuguese and Arab merchants who traded mainly in high quality silks. Its buildings and its street plan reflect the influences, both indigenous and foreign, that has combined to produce this unique heritage site. In the morning, your driver will pick you up at your hotel lobby for Hoi An ancient town to visit its numerous places of interest. See 400-year-old Japanese bridge, 300-year-old Chinese temple, 200-year-old Vietnamese former merchants’ house and the local fish market. Around the town, we can see a numerous art galleries and tailor shops, get some made-to-order clothes if you like.
In the afternoon, we depart from Hoi An Town to My Son Holy Land, a World Heritage site 50 km southwest of Hoi An. Located in a lush valley, My Son was a capital and religious center of the Cham people, now remaining with red brick towers and sanctuaries. My Son is considered to be in the same league as some of southeast Asia’s greatest archaeological sites, including Angkor in Cambodia, Bagan in Myanmar, Ayutthaya in Thailand and Borobudur in Indonesia. These towers and sanctuaries were built from the 7th to 13th centuries.
