An eight-day multi activity adventure in Uzbekistan highlighting all of the hot spots with a professional sightseeing tour guide.
Upon arrival to Tashkent, you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to your hotel. Take an afternoon city tour of Tashkent, visiting the old town and the new part of the city. Sights you’ll see include Khasti Imam complex, Barakhan madrasa, Mui Muborak Library, Chorsu bazar and Kukeldash madrasah.
After breakfast on day two, you’ll drive to Samarkand with your guide and driver. On route, you will cross the river Syrdarya, one of the two main rivers in Uzbekistan. Pass through villages, cotton fields and the Zarafshan valley where Samarkand is located. On the third-day of your journey, enjoy a full day tour of the ancient city as well as modern Samarkand. Visit the monuments, mosques and museums before enjoying a folk or light and sound show in the evening.
On the fourth day, travel to Bukhara via Shahrisabz. Drive over the mountain of Zarafshan pass and visit the UNESCO-listed ruins of Ak Saray Palace, Jahangir’s mausoleum, Ismail Samani mausoleum and Kok Gumbaz mosque. Eat lunch at a local restaurant and continue driving to Bukhara. Day five will consist of a full day of sightseeing. Your tour will be all on foot through the ancient, holy city. See palaces, trade domes, mosques, madrasas, hanaka, Turkish hammam, the bazaar and many souvenir shops.
Take a long journey through the desert on day six. Cover about one-third of Uzbekistan’s territory, crossing the river Amudarya near Urgench and arrive in Khiva at around 3 p.m. Use the afternoon as free time before relaxing at your hotel. The next day you’ll take a walking tour of Khiva and visit the whole town with it’s minarets, mosques, museums, palaces and caravanserai. Meet local people living in the old town and shop in the local market. After lunch and some more free time for shopping and sightseeing, board a flight back to Tashkent before ending your journey with us in Uzbekistan.
