Wandering through the streets of Psiri you will learn about one of the coolest neighborhoods of Athens, and its history. Psiri has always had a reputation of being anti-establishment. Walking through Psiri in the daytime is deceiving. The streets are filled with working class people and the former leather craftsman district still contains a variety of shops and businesses that might be described as practical or business oriented. A neighborhood full of Street Art, cool bars, galleries, theaters, and young people.
Reaching the Athens Public Market, you will see the butchers come from generations of butchers who have had stalls in the market for more than a century. You will see the fishes and you listen the voices of the merchants. We will check the stores that sell olives. There are also spice shops, cheese shops, canned goods, dry goods. We can visit the two working class restaurants in the meat market and the secret underground restaurant at the bottom of the vegetable market. We can visit also the most interesting road of Athens full of plant and seed stores, the excellent herb and spice stores Our next stop is Exarheia area is also a historical area it is close to the Universities of Athens that’s why always it is full of young people, we can say that always there is “revolutionary” atmosphere. It is an area full of coffee shops, bars and also traditional restaurants, nice neoclassical buildings, amazing street art and small shops.
Finally we head to Kolonaki neighborhood, the high class and also artistic quarter of Athens.
