Gain a new understanding and perspective of this magnificent country on this fun heritage tour. We will drive to Kyaukmyaung, famous for the manufacture of distinctive glazed pottery. In the afternoon, explore the ancient royal city of Shwe Bo.
Stroll along the riverside to take in Kyaukmyaung’s attractive nature. Visit traditional factories made of bamboo thatched barns and see traditional kilns, drying yards and piles of rough clay being chopped. Enjoy an excursion to see the reconstructed palace near the local market in Shwe Bo, explore the old city moat where two miles north of town near Maw Daw Myin Tha Pagoda. Visit rural pagoda festival of this area if you are travelling at the time of the event.
In the morning, we will have a sightseeing tour of Hanlin, 12 miles southeast from Shwe Bo. We shall later return to Mandalay via the road to Sagaing. You will learn and see excavation sites dating back to the Pyu era of 4th to 9th centuries.
We will visit the small private museum of Nyaung Koe Bin Monastery and ta little hot spring area which is the water source for the local village.
