Trip Info

This skiing tour is for the very fit and experienced ski tourists. You must be ready for handling with crampons and rope, turning in deep snow at all conditions and steep terrain. This is undoubtedly one of the most outstanding glaciers of the Valais Alps. A western Alps adventure! It is imposing and challenging, between the Turtmanntal and Zermatt. The variety of landscapes is also one of the assets of this regal touring week.

From Zermatt, we will take the cable car to the Schwarzsee and to the Schönbielhut (2964m). The next day, we will cross the Col Durand to the Mont Durand (3712) and downhill to the Cabane du Grand Mountet (2886m). On day three, we ascend the Blanc de Moming (3657m) and ride down the rugged glacier de Moming and climb the non-serviced Cabance d´Ar Pitettaz (2786m).

The next morning will have us crossing the Crête de Milon (2990m) up to the Col de Tracuit (3210m) and to the Tracuit hut (3256m). After a short break, we will climb the highest summit of the week, The Bishorn (4153m). Enjoy a long downhill ski, on day five, to the Turtmannhut (2519m) and ascend to the Barrhorn (3610m) and Topalihut (2674m).

Day six, we ascend the Wasuhorn (3343m) and ride down to St. Niklaus (1127m). For the last part, we will take the cable car.
