Visiting Gdansk would not be complete without a heritage and history tour of Main Town and the shipyards. In 1980, an anti-communist social movement began the collapse of communism in this country. You will visit significant government sites, exhibits and museums.
The tour will begin at Solidarity Square. You will learn about the social reform history and about Poland’s revolution, which started here. Nearby, the former Gdansk shipyard will host shops, movie theatres, hotels, office buildings and residential property as it turns into Young City. It will also house a European Solidarity Centre.
For a better understanding of the local history, we will visit the Roads to Freedom museum. The exhibitions will give a perspective of communism and the change to a free workers union.

Professional tour guide and transfer specialist. I offer guided city tours Gdansk, Sopot, Gdynia, shore excursions, cultural, genealogy, history and military tours . Below is the review of one of my clients: "I found Margaret through TripAdvisor while planning a Baltic Cruise stopping in Gdynia. I wanted to visit the small villages where my German great-grandfather was born and confirmed, over an hour's drive to the west. Advance communication by email was efficient, and the named price was very reasonable for the six-hour tour for three of us (with my sister and adult son). I paid an advance through PayPal and the rest in cash Euros after our tour. Margaret and driver Mark picked us up at the port. She came armed with several interesting pictorial books about our ancestor's region of Mickorowo, which helped set the stage for what the area was like in the late 1800s. It was so wonderful to see the church where he was confirmed and the tiny rural village where he was born and grew up before coming to America. Margaret arranged with the pastor to open the church and translated for us when we stopped by his home. This visit definitely fleshed out my understanding of our origins. I highly recommend this agency for a professional, friendly, customized tour! It was the highlight of my trip." Feel invited to send your enquiry. Warmest Regards from Poland, Margaret
